Objective
Introduction to mobile wireless communications, including characteristics of the wireless channel, PHY layer technologies (for example MIMO, OFDM, etc.) and MAC layer schemes; comparison of different cellular standards; definition of QoS and support of QoS in wireless networks; understanding QoS measurements, their evaluation and benchmarking in cellular networks.

Summary
Based on an introduction to wireless communications, the lecture course covers: cellular systems, PHY technologies ( for example MIMO, OFDM etc.), MAC schemes (e.g., in detail the IEEE 802.11 MAC), mechanisms supporting QoS in wireless networks, QoS measurements and evaluation, benchmarking.
